As we all see the images coming from the impoverished country of Haiti, the scope of devastation seems overwhelming.

For all of us in the building industry, used to building standards in our country, it is easy to understand the levels of destruction to buildings in Haiti. Working in the home building industry for over 15 years, I am quite aware of the challenges that we have been going through in the past many months. Yet, I encourage all of you who have stopped by my website to visit www.redcross.org and make a contribution to help.

For all of us who are glued to our IPhones and Blackberrys, we can donate to the Red Cross by simply texting. People who text, just like you and I have already donated $10 Million as of Friday Jan. 15th, simply by texting.

If a fire, flood, tornado, hurricane or earthquake in our country destroys homes, condos or apartments built by contractors and builders like you, the Red Cross is there for those families. So all of us need to be there for the Red Cross.

And as a Nascar fan, I am proud of the team sponsors who have donated over $3.8 million to the relief effort in Haiti.
